Killexams : Pat and Samantha McAfee Expecting 'Double Rainbow' Baby: 'Happy and Blessed'

Pat and Samantha McAfee will welcome their first baby after a difficult road to parenthood.

The ESPN sports analyst and his wife are expecting their first baby together in May, they revealed in an emotional joint Instagram post on Wednesday.

"For those of you who haven't followed along with our parenthood journey, we have lost two pregnancies, I almost lost my life both times with internal bleeding, resulting in losing both of my Fallopian tubes, which has caused us to not be able to conceive naturally," Samantha began the emotional.

The CEO and founder of non-profit Fur the Brand, 34, went on to share that the couple started in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in July, noting that the process was "physically demanding and emotionally challenging for the both of us."

Samantha detailed "pumping my body with so many hormones, the anxiety, the hope, truly being a human science project," adding that she did this with a fear of needles, knowing she'd sometimes require as many as three in a day.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

"It was not easy on me or for Patrick to have to cause pain to me. I would like to believe IVF has made our relationship stronger," she wrote.

Samantha — who tied the knot with the WWE commentator, 35, in Aug. 2020 — said that their good news came, "after about 150 shots, a surgery, a transfer, countless blood tests, waiting on embryos, genetic testing, hoping for a big fat positive on that pee stick."

"And so much support from family and close friends. It's been a team effort for sure," she added. "We are beyond happy and blessed to announce our double rainbow baby!"

She concluded her post by sending a message to "women and couples trying and battling" to conceive, writing, "I hope this isn't a trigger but rather serves as hope. Hope that you too can overcome the battle of infertility."

"You will be parents! And remember that after a storm, a rainbow can occur. 🌈"

Last November, Samantha shared a heartbreaking post on Instagram revealing a miscarriage and opening up about the couple's infertility battle alongside a photo of the two looking into each other's eyes on their wedding day.

"We found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. We had to start monitoring it instantly bc last year we had an ectopic resulting in internal bleeding & removal of my right Fallopian tube. So my doctor had me getting my blood tested every 48 hrs to watch my hcg levels and vaginal ultrasounds every 4 days for the past three weeks to try to find the pregnancy," she explained, revealing that she went on to have "what we thought was a 'normal" miscarriage.'"

Samantha explained that she learned that she was still pregnant, but doctors could not find where the attachment was. Plans were made but before they could be executed, her second fallopian tube burst and had to be removed.

"We are now no longer able to conceive on our own, I am heart broken to have that taken from us," she acknowledged, later celebrating how "science has other ways to get pregnant."

Noting how the conversation around these subjects is becoming normalized, she urged others to know that "you are not alone, you have an army behind you."

"Not only your friends and family but all of us hopeful parents to be, let's raise each other up and be there for one another and know that there is a way .. this is something I too have to tell myself," she concluded.

"Because right now it hurts and sucks and I question why or what I could've done differently. But at the end of the day I KNOW I WILL BE A MOTHER somehow some way, I know Patrick and I will be the best parents we can be whenever the universe thinks it's the right time."

Killexams : Pat McAfee Rips Media For Blasting Jeff Saturday Hire

Pat McAfee hit the air on Monday ready to lay some smack down on media members who questioned the Indianapolis Colts for hiring Jeff Saturday. McAfee, a former teammate of Saturday's, was in rare form, going directly after the media in general but saving some vitriol for Joe Thomas and Bill Cowher specifically.

The Colts beat the Las Vegas Raiders 25-20 on Sunday in Saturday's first game. His supporters and friends are taking an extended victory lap.

Here's the segment:

I get what McAfee is saying here. It's an interim head coaching hire, it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. That said, some old-school NFL folks are ticked Saturday just walked in the door and took the job when hundreds of coaches have been working years for an opportunity like that.

Cowher called the Saturday hire a "disgrace to the coaching profession" and, I'll be honest, I think the move was insane. But if it works out, we'll all look like idiots.

Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images for SiriusXM Former Colts punter Pat McAfee.

On Sunday, November 13, Jeff Saturday won his debut as interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. In turn, that inspired former Colts punter Pat McAfee to troll former Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher for comments made on the NFL on CBS pregame show prior to Indy’s 25-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10.

Pat McAfee to Bill Cowher: ‘Jeff Won’

Actually, McAfee trolled Cowher twice, first after the Colts emerged victorious against Josh McDaniels and the Raiders, and the second time after he landed Saturday as a guest on the November 14 edition of The Pat McAfee Show.

Here’s the first tweet, in which McAfee praises Saturday for leading the Colts to victory. Meanwhile, the accompanying video clip shows Cowher — a Pittsburgh area native who played his college football at North Carolina State and lived in Raleigh after stepping down as head coach of the Steelers — working the sound horn on behalf of the Carolina Hurricanes prior to a 2009 NHL playoff game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Some Penguins and Steelers fans criticized Cowher for supporting his adopted hometown hockey team over his hometown hockey team, which is no doubt what McAfee — also a Pittsburgh area native — is aiming to highlight.

But McAfee didn’t stop there. He also roasted Cowher a second time while announcing how he landed Saturday as a guest on the Monday, November 14 edition of The Pat McAfee Show:

Bill Cowher: ‘I’m Speaking on Behalf of the Coaching Profession’

McAfee is upset about Cowher calling out the 47-year-old Saturday, though the former Steelers head coach is likely equally as upset with Colts owner Jim Irsay, who made the decision to hire Saturday — Saturday is a former All-Pro center who played for the Colts for 13 years — despite an absence of significant coaching experience.

Here’s what Cowher said on CBS:

“You know, guys, I played in the National Football League for five years. I went on to become an assistant coach right from playing to coaching for seven years. I was blessed to be able to go to Pittsburgh and at the age of 34 become a head coach for 15 years. I’m speaking on behalf of the coaching profession,” he began, before claiming that Saturday declined past opportunities to become a Colts assistant, citing his television job and wanting to spend time with his family.

Then Cowher got very visibly upset, reprising the look and tone of voice that Steelers fans vividly recall from his days as Pittsburgh’s head coach.

“What does that say to the assistants on the staff right now? The guys that were there in training camp. The guys who were there late at night. The guys who have gone through the first (nine) weeks (of the season) in that building…?

“For an owner to hire a coach who has never been an assistant at the college level or the pro level, and over(looking) a lot of candidates that are qualified for that job … it’s a disgrace to the coaching profession,” Cowher concluded. “And regardless of how this plays out, what happened in Indianapolis is a travesty.”

Cowher makes a good point, and one win — against the lowly 2-7 Raiders, no less — does not prove much of anything, especially since it does nothing to counter the former head coach’s arguments.

This could become an even more compelling back-and-forth if Cowher responds or if McAfee continues to tweak Cowher on his show. Stay tuned.

The Indianapolis Colts took a lot of flack for the hiring of Jeff Saturday as interim head coach, but when the dust settled on Sunday, Saturday is 1-0.

Former Colts teammate Pat McAfee took advantage of that opportunity to rip everyone that called Jim Irsay’s hiring of Saturday a terrible decision, including Cleveland Browns legend Joe Thomas.

Thomas ripped the Saturday hire prior to the team’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders, saying it was the "most egregious thing I can ever remember happening" in the NFL. During his latest "Pat McAfee Show," McAfee said he has a lot of respect for the future Hall of Famer, but believes him to be a "puppet."

"I don’t think Joe Thomas is a bad guy. I think he’s a puppet. I don’t think he’s a bad guy," McAfee said in a long diatribe. "I think he felt obligated to say something because somebody told him how disrespected they felt as opposed from looking at it through a realistic point of view. This is an interim head coaching role. The Indianapolis Colts have underwhelmed everybody on Earth including their fan base literally since the jump this season when they tied the f---ing Houston Texans in Houston this seasons, and the Houston Texans are the Houston Texans."

McAfee also pulled up footage from his show in 2020 when he had Thomas on as a guest. Thomas told the crew that he wanted to throw his name in the hat for the next head coach of the Browns, and like Saturday, he didn’t have any coaching experience.

EX-BROWN JOE THOMAS ON JEFF SATURDAY HIRING: ‘MOST EGREGIOUS THING I CAN EVER REMEMBER HAPPENING’ IN NFL

"Why did Joe Thomas at that point think two years ago, three years ago that he had any f---ing right to be [head coach]?" McAfee questioned. "Is it because he’s the greatest player they’ve had? Is it because they spent years, years and years in that building with the turnover and saw what may be good and saw what they were terrible at doing? Is it because he knew football pretty well? Is it because he thought he knew the NFL pretty well?

"Did Joe Thomas say to us on Janaury 3, 2020 that he would throw his name into the hat to become the next head coach of Cleveland Browns because he was the only one that cared about the Browns enough to turn them around and make them a good program? Or did he say that because he wanted to spit in the face of every single coach that has had to work and grind and sleep on couches before getting that opportunity of being one of only 32 NFL head coaches? So he’s either disrespectful or he thought he could do something that nobody else could do with the Cleveland Browns."

McAfee went on to say that Saturday’s 13 years with the Colts and understanding everything that was still going on in the building made him someone that Irsay could trust.

He also ripped Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher, who questioned the Saturday hire as well.

COLTS' JEFF SATURDAY PICKS UP FIRST WIN AFTER WEEK OF SCRUTINY, OLD TWEET ON ‘HORRIBLE’ RAIDERS GOES VIRAL

"But Bill Cowher, shut the f--- up dude," McAfee said. "He said, ‘Why didn’t John Fox get the job? Why didn’t Gus Bradley get the job?’ It’s their first year in the building and to be honest the team has stunk since they got there.

"I just think the backlash was absurd. I think the win was huge."

McAfee even believes that this Saturday hire, which doesn’t ensure him as head coach next year given the interim status, could actually help the minority coaching percentage problem that the NFL currently faces.

"I believe that this will help with the minority coaching percentages in the NFL if former players are getting fast tracked to more important positions as opposed to having to wait around and do bullshit that you’re supposed to do whenever you’re 22, 23, 24, 25 years old," McAfee said. "Instead, they’re in their 30s because they had a very prolific NFL football career. Jeff Saturday couldn’t have gotten hired at 34 to be the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts because Jeff Saturday was playing for the Indianapolis Colts."

The Colts defeated the Raiders to get back on track with their fourth win of the season, pushing their overall record to 4-5-1. It was a late touchdown pass from Matt Ryan, who was back under center after being benched by then-head coach Frank Reich for Sam Ehlinger, finding Parris Campbell for a 35-yard score that would be the game winner.

Killexams : Pat McAfee's Wife Announces Pregnancy And Opens Up About IVF

Pat McAfee and his wife Samantha have announced that they are expecting their first child in May 2023. In a heartfelt tweet on November 9, Samantha shared the news and opened up about their journey of conceiving through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

"After about 150 shots, a surgery, a transfer, countless blood tests, waiting on embryos, genetic testing, hoping for a big fat positive on a pee stick. So much support from family & close friends. We are beyond happy & blessed to announce our double rainbow baby!" Samantha tweeted.

She added a note to the tweet revealing they began their IVF journey in July after losing two pregnancies that resulted in medical complications where she almost lost her life. Samantha said that the process was "physically demanding and emotionally challenging" having to endure multiple hormone injections a day that Pat dispensed. Despite that, she believes her relationship with Pat has grown stronger.

Pat has had a busy year juggling multiple responsibilities as an on-air personality in and out of WWE. While also serving as a full-time color commentator on "SmackDown," McAfee made his WrestleMania debut in April by defeating Austin Theory. In September, McAfee announced he was temporarily stepping away from WWE to work with ESPN as an analyst for "College GameDay."

As a result, WWE shuffled the announce team and moved Wade Barrett from "NXT" to "SmackDown" to call the action alongside Michael Cole. While a WWE return timeframe is currently unknown, McAfee is expected to come back at some point as he signed a multi-year contract extension in July.

Killexams : Pat McAfee Puts 2 NFL Legends on Blast Over Jeff Saturday Criticism

Getty Indianapolis Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday improved to 1-0 with a victory against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 13.

Jeff Saturday silenced his doubters by winning his first game as the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. But don’t count on former Colts punter Pat McAfee forgetting about the new coach’s biggest critics before his debut.

The Colts received a lot of criticism for hiring Saturday over the last several days, the loudest of which seemed to come from former Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas and ex-Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.

McAfee trolled both after Saturday won his first game as an NFL head coach.

As one could guess, Thomas is the man dressed in the German-styled attire hopping around with the liter of beer. Cowher is in the second video pumping a sound horn.

McAfee Throws Major Shade at Cowher

Thomas criticized McAfee first while appearing on NFL Network on November 11, but Cowher’s comments on the CBS pregame show were fresh in the minds of Colts fans after the 25-20 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10. Cowher’s comments came just hours before the game.

“For an owner to hire a coach who has never been an assistant at the college level or the pro level, and overseeing a lot of candidates that are qualified for that job, as we see in Steve Wilks, an opportunity to build a resume, it’s a disgrace to the coaching profession,” Cowher said. “And regardless of how this thing played out, what happened in Indianapolis is a travesty.”

For Cowher’s full comments, watch the video below:

Interestingly, McAfee’s tweet with the video of Cowher pumping the sound horn could have a deeper meaning. That video is from Game 4 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins, in which Cowher appeared at RBC Center to pump up Hurricanes fans before the playoff game.

Cowher has lived in North Carolina since retiring from the Steelers, but not only did he coach 15 years in Pittsburgh, he was born and raised in the Steel City. After the horn siren video aired, Pennsylvania media accused Cowher of being a traitor.

McAfee likely remembers this well, as he is also a Pittsburgh native and avid Penguins fan.

Was McAfee trying to call Cowher a traitor to NFL coaches with the horn siren video? It’s hard to tell. Perhaps McAfee simply found the video fitting for making fun of the former Steelers coach because he looks rather ridiculous in it.

The former Indianapolis punter further put Cowher on blast with another tweet after Saturday and the Colts beat the Raiders.

McAfee Trolls Joe Thomas Too

Before Cowher’s strong words, Thomas ripped into the Colts for the Saturday hire as well. The former Browns tackle mostly criticized Colts owner Jim Irsay, but he also found fault in Saturday for accepting the position.

“When you hire your drinking buddy to be head coach of an NFL football team, it is one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Thomas said. “To the commitment, the lifestyle and the experience that it takes to be an NFL coach, any coach, much less the head coach of the Indianapolis football Colts.”

Thomas continued on, calling the Saturday hire “a joke” and “the most egregious thing” he can recall occurring in the league.

It’s only one game, but the Colts were better in many areas during Saturday’s first game as head coach. So after one week, it’s not Saturday and Irsay, but rather Cowher and Thomas with egg on their face.
